However, dedicated fans of Nioh 2 will tell you that this is essentially where the similarities end. This, in conjunction with the game’s difficulty and the necessity of travelling back to where one died in order to retrieve one's experience points, also fuels comparisons to the Souls series. Unlike Team Ninja’s flagship series, Ninja Gaiden, however, Nioh features far more grounded combat mechanics, making it more reminiscent of the popular “Souls-like” genre.
